I have a burr grinder that grinds into a small measuring cup. If I were making 10 cups of coffee, I would fill the cup up to the 12 cup line. That gives the coffee a slight kick, but doesn't make it to over-powering. I highly recommend a burr grinder, and buy your beans whole. It makes for better coffee.
