    how do you make american coffee without a coffee maker? and not instant coffee, either.

      This is not my favourite, but it can be done and I do not know the ratio of water to coffee grounds.
      Boil water in pot on stove and add grounds directly to the boiling water.
      Pour coffee resulting from this mixture into cup(s).
      Imbibe but do not drain your cup as there is chewy material in the bottom.
      This may stain your pot.
      This is how people in/from Britain have been know to make coffee.
      Sorry I don’t know the amounts to measure.
      It definitely can be strong and this is why I say it is not my favourite mode of preparation of the beverage.
